This project was submitted to the Texas Division of Emergency Management in December of 2018, as part of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funds appropriated by congress in response to Hurricane Harvey. For this project, San Patricio County will hire an engineering firm to conduct a Flood Control Assessment of the entirety of the county, and consequently update the Master Drainage Plan which is the guiding document for San Patricio County Drainage District.
The purpose of the San Patricio County Flood Control Assessment/Master Drainage Plan is to analyze the watersheds throughout the county, develop a framework for drainage improvement projects, provide specific recommendations for prioritized areas of immediate concern, and provide the County with the tools needed for drainage control.
This is a long overdue update for the County, and will greatly impact future projects regarding drainage and storm water runoff.
