Emergency and Disaster Planning

July 2019, Full Scale EOC Exercise

The Emergency Management & Safety Department works throughout the year to fine tune plans and procedures, to ensure that everyone is capable of responding to emergencies and disasters, as they arise. To find resources on planning for your home or business, check out the Prepare section of our page.

Our office maintains the Multi-Jurisdictional Emergency Operations Plan, which defines the roles and responsibilities of individuals within the county, and the nine cities that are signed onto our plan. Those nine cities are: Sinton, Taft, Gregory, Ingleside on the Bay, Odem, Mathis, Lake City, Lakeside and San Patricio. The County Emergency Management Coordinator serves as the coordinator for those cities as well, working closely with their mayors and city staff to identify and address the needs of each city.

Our department is also active in various organizations both at the local level and state level, where we works with other emergency managers to ensure we are better prepared for whatever may come our way.
