National Weather Service indicates that Tropical Depression 22 ( Now Tropical Storm Beta) is a slow-moving system that our community will need to monitor likely until the middle of next week. Those in low lying areas prone to flooding must take immediate precautions to plan for heavy rain along the coast and for a long duration coastal flood event with water levels near or higher than what was observed with Hanna. Heavy rains could result in flash flooding and isolated minor to moderate creek and river flooding.
Area residents are asked to take necessary precautions to protect lives and secure property. Know your Tropical Storm/Hurricane Preparedness Plan, check your supplies, and stay informed. San Patricio County will continue to monitor weather conditions will report as necessary.
