July 5, 2024
Contact:  Dave R. Krebs, County Judge at 361/364-9301

San Patricio County staff monitored a conference call with the National Weather Service at 11:30 a.m. this morning, and County Judge David R. Krebs visited with Emergency Operation Center staff and County departments about ongoing preparation activities for Hurricane Beryl.

Judge Krebs has issued a Declaration of Local State of Emergency for San Patricio County, effective immediately: and urges area residents to take necessary precautions to protect lives and secure property.

The current forecast shows Hurricane Beryl is expected to make landfall as a Category 1 Hurricane Sunday night or Monday morning somewhere near the Coastal Bend. There is still uncertainty on the exact strength Beryl will take, but a northward trend is possible. No evacuation recommendations have been made at this time, but residents should remain aware of changes to the forecast and prepare for possible evacuations ahead of landfall.

San Patricio County will continue to monitor weather conditions and will report as necessary.

Updates will be provided as new information comes available.
