The San Patricio County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HMAP) has undergone a revision over the last few months and is now ready for comments from the public. This revision process has included meetings with stakeholders such as city and county personnel, volunteer groups, industry, and various other stakeholders. This plan is a long-term strategy that aims to reduce the impacts of disasters on people, property, and the environment. Through the revision process, the planning team has identified hazards and risks within San Patricio County, worked together to think of strategies to lessen the impacts of those disasters, and brainstormed possible projects to mitigate those hazards. The final draft of the HMAP will be available for comment until September 20th, 2024.
