Emergency Management Coordinator Sara Williams announced that on Sunday, August 30, 2020, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Piaz Park in Mathis, the State will set up a Mobile Collection Test Site. Flyers with more information will be posted.


Public Health Preparedness Department reported confirmed COVID-19 case count of 1230 which is up four (4) new cases since Tuesday, August 25, 2020. Due to limited internet access issues, the County was unable to retrieve new case information from the Texas Department of State Health Services. The County’s active case count moves down to 160 as this count also denotes that nineteen (19) individuals were released from COVID-19 protocol. DSHS is reporting fifty-two (52) COVID-19 fatalities for San Patricio County at the time of this release. The County’s completed tests count is 3307. The County’s immediate risk of transmission is intermediate.
Reminder: Isolation is required after being diagnosed with COVID-19 in order to slow the spread of this virus. The CDC recommends isolation be maintained for at least 10 days after illness onset AND at least 3 days (72 hours) after recovery. Illness onset is the date symptoms began and recovery is the resolution of fever with improvement of other symptoms.
