One of the proven ways to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 is aggressive social distancing practices. In May, District Judge Janna Whatley and County Court at Law Judge Elizabeth Welborn requested that the Commissioners Court designate the San Patricio County Civic Center as alternate courtroom. This Civic Center is over 10,000 square feet and can accommodate the new social distancing guidelines for in-person hearings. This past Monday, County Court at Law began using the Civic Center for their bond returnable dockets.
