Clara Rieder, Public Health Preparedness Manager, reported No New Cases going into the long holiday weekend. Therefore, San Patricio County’s COVID-19 case count remains at 7 with one individual fully recovered and released from the COVID-19 protocol. No change in the number of tests as we stay at 71 conducted. The immediate risk of transmission in the County remains minimal.
Next, Judge Krebs looks to continue the Declaration of Local Disaster Order and issue new Executive Orders extending the Stay Home Work Safe measures. The Commissioners Court will consider these Orders on Monday during their regular meeting. This meeting will be livestreamed. The new duration of these Orders will run until Monday, May 4, 2020 (the date of the first County Commissioners Court meeting immediately following the termination date of Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-14 that ends on April 30, 2020).
Finally, Happy Easter. We recognize that this long holiday weekend will test our community’s character. Remember Harvey did not break us and our community’s resolve will outlast COVID-19.
Remember: In a WORLD where you can be anything, be safe this weekend!!
